When Gillette patients and families are seeking health-related information, they need not look far. Health Resources and Education, newly located on Gillette’s St. Paul campus near the fourth floor skyway entrance, offers books, magazines, DVDs and online materials about disabilities and related issues.

Health Resources and Education (formerly called the Family Resource Center) coordinator Laurie Porter has been helping patients and families access the information they need for 20 years. With over 900 print and video resources available, families can find materials on a variety of topics, from complex disabilities to directions to St. Paul landmarks.

New this year, Health Resources and Education will offer information on stress-relief techniques and other support for caregivers. The new program aims to provide assistance and encouragement to people who care for children with complex medical needs.
