Certifications and Accreditations

American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC)

In February 2008, the ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® designated Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare as a Nurse Magnet facility. The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health-care organizations that demonstrate high quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practices.

The Joint Commission

Effective September 2008, Gillette has earned and maintained The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™. An organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 16,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. The Joint Commission’s comprehensive process evaluates the organization’s compliance with standards and other accreditation or certification requirements. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Program-Specific Accreditations

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

CARF has accredited our inpatient rehabilitation program since 1992. CARF-accredited programs must display rigorous standards of quality, with reaccreditation reviews occurring every three years.

American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC)

ABC, the national accrediting body for the orthotic and prosthetic professions, has certified each of our prosthetists in the Assistive Technology program.  ABC accredited prosthetists must pass comprehensive written, clinical and simulation exams.

National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI)

Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare is a member of NACHRI and its public policy affiliate, the National Association of Children’s Hospitals (N.A.C.H.). Our work with NACHRI and N.A.C.H. helps ensure the health of all children through clinical care, research, training and advocacy.
