Each contribution to Gillette Children's Foundation makes a difference. Your support is critical in helping Gillette patients realize greater well-being, independence and enjoyment in life. For example:
Annual Fund
The most powerful gifts you can make to support the children we serve are to our Annual Fund. These gifts provide critical, flexible, unrestricted funds that are used throughout the year to meet the most urgent needs of our patients and their families.
Patient Care Fund
A typical patient at Gillette isn’t typical at all.
Each of our patients is unique and deals with complex medical conditions and disabilities. To meet these needs and help our patients live more independently, Gillette has developed a team approach to patient care that includes many specialists: surgeons, nurses, therapists, orthotists, psychologists, social workers and other experts. By organizing patient care into centers of excellence we provide leading-edge care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
Gifts to the Patient Care Fund support specialized care delivered through Gillette’s centers of excellence for cerebral palsy, craniofacial services, gait and motion analysis, pediatric orthopaedics, pediatric neurosciences, pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric rheumatology, and spina bifida.
Free Care Fund
Every child with a disability deserves opportunities for greater well-being, independence and enjoyment in life.
Gillette has never turned a child away because a family was unable to pay for care.
Gifts to the Free Care Fund allow us to serve all children with disabilities, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Leading-Edge Care Fund
Rare or unique disabling conditions require treatments and procedures that are equally unique. After more than 100 years as a premier expert in the treatment of children with disabilities, Gillette is often a proving ground for new procedures that could lead to breakthrough care for people who have disabilities. This kind of research and testing can be very costly.
Gifts to Gillette’s Leading Edge Care Fund help us innovate and advance the standard of care for children with disabilities. Your gift to this fund will ensure that no child with a disability will be refused the innovative care necessary to treat his or her disability.
Capital Fund
Providing innovative and comprehensive care to 20,000 kids with disabilities each year isn’t easy.
To ensure that our patients get the care they need, we’re committed to harnessing the power of rapidly advancing technology and increasing our capacity to serve children with disabilities.
Gifts to the Capital Fund help Gillette acquire the tools, technology and physical space necessary to better serve our complex and ever-increasing patient population. Recently, capital funds have been used to acquire new equipment for digital radiography, for a portable X-ray machine, Dexascan equipment to measure bone density, and for the conversion of the hospital’s paper records to an electronic medical record system.
Future capital gifts will be used to enhance our advanced imaging capabilities and provide additional space to serve the more than 8,000 new patients we see every year.
Education Fund
These funds provide additional training for doctors, fellows, residents, nurses, therapists, orthotists and other patient care staff through Gillette’s programs and services. Gillette collaborates with the University of Minnesota and Henry Ford Hospital to train pediatric and orthopaedic medical students, as well as postgraduate fellows.
Endowment Fund
Gifts to our general endowment fund are skillfully invested for growth so that they provide a steady, dependable, inflation-protected stream of income and resources to care for children - now and into the future.
