ImPACT Testing
ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a brain injury measurement tool for children and teens who have sustained a traumatic brain injury (concussion). Through a series of computerized tests, ImPACT identifies subtle changes in brain function, evaluates post-injury condition, and tracks recovery. By comparing baseline (pre-injury) and post-injury test results, ImPACT can help determine the extent of damage following a concussion.
Gillette uses ImPACT, along with evaluation by a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, to help parents, coaches and kids make appropriate return-to-activity decisions. Our goal is to eliminate the risk of recurrent or permanent injuries that may have temporary or permanent health risks.
While ImPACT is designed for children age 10 and older, Gillette provides post-concussion diagnosis and treatment for children of all ages, including infants and toddlers, through the Minor Neurotrauma Clinic and Center for Pediatric Rehabilitation.
