Course Description

This course is designed to increase providers’ understanding of advances in diagnostic techniques, treatment strategies and research findings for children who have pediatric neurological disorders. The format will allow for an exchange of ideas among professionals from different disciplines who work with patients who have neurological disorders. The first day of the conference will focus on epilepsy. Day two will focus on movement disorders, spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Day three will focus on nerve, muscle and neuromuscular conditions, brain injury, spinal cord injury and neurotrauma.

Overall Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to:

  • Identify current scientific advances relating to pediatric neurological disorders
  • Examine research findings and clinical outcomes in pediatric neurosciences and their translation to clinical care
  • Examine the clinical benefits of interdisciplinary management of children who have neurological disorders
  • Examine emerging trends in the treatment of patients who have neurological disorders and injuries
