Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare Launches New Advertising Campaign: ‘Moving Forward’

[Saint Paul, Minn.] – August 26, 2013 – Moving forward. It’s what happens every day for patients at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Whether it’s a child’s first-ever steps after major surgery, a family finding treatment for their baby’s rare condition, or state-of-the-art technology helping surgeons correct a complex disorder, the things some call “miracles” Gillette calls, simply, results.

This concept is the foundation of Gillette’s new advertising campaign, titled ‘Moving Forward.’  The campaign highlights Gillette’s commitment to improving the lives of its patients through expert medical care, advanced treatments and research.  It also emphasizes Gillette’s efforts to foster attitudes of acceptance and hope toward children who have disabilities.

As the nation’s first hospital for children who have disabilities, Gillette remains dedicated to serving patients with some of the most complex conditions seen in pediatric medicine.  Today, Gillette is nationally and internationally recognized for excellence in many pediatric specialties, including orthopedics, rehabilitation, craniofacial services, neurology and neurosurgery.  The ‘Moving Forward’ concept connects Gillette’s world-class expertise with remarkable treatment outcomes that help children maximize their independence, health and happiness.

“Gillette’s mission is, and has always been, to provide exceptional care and service to children who have highly complex medical conditions,” says Kathryn Wardrop, vice president of strategic planning and support services at Gillette. “We’re confident that this campaign effectively communicates Gillette’s role in moving children, their families — even perceptions about people with disabilities — forward.”  

Gillette worked with Minneapolis advertising agency Periscope to create the ‘Moving Forward’ campaign, which includes TV, radio, online and billboard advertisements. A 30-second TV spot features a real-life Gillette patient, Ellie, enjoying a belated father-daughter dance.  As the story unfolds, visuals reveal that Ellie’s care at Gillette made this special moment possible.

“The one-of-a-kind dance that Ellie is able to experience tells the story of a child’s life forever changed by world-class medical care,” says Jonathan Comito, management supervisor at Periscope. “It’s an honor to partner with Gillette in raising awareness of its mission and unique focus among members of our community.”

Gillette’s ‘Moving Forward’ TV spot begins running today on local broadcast stations.
