Richard Vehe, M.D., is a pediatric rheumatologist and was medical director of the Center for Pediatric Rheumatology at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare from 1993-2009. He has been practicing at Gillette since 1993, and treats patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and other rheumatic conditions.

Vehe received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and finished a pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota. He then completed a pediatric rheumatology fellowship at the University of Washington, including a clinical fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, and a research fellowship at Virginia Mason Research Center, all in Seattle.

In addition to his work at Gillette, Vehe is an assistant professor in the University of Minnesota's Department of Pediatrics, where he directs the school’s pediatric rheumatology division. He is active within the Arthritis Foundation, serving as medical editor of its family newsletter, and is a clinical investigator with the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance.

Vehe is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the organizations’ Sections on Pediatric Rheumatology.
