Together We Play

Together We Play serves as an umbrella for a variety of programs and efforts — from adaptive sports and arts and crafts to advocating for inclusive playgrounds and developing adaptive play gear. Our goal is to create more opportunities for children of all abilities to engage, connect and celebrate the power of play together.

Play is essential for every child’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. It builds confidence, strengthens relationships, and helps children make sense of the world around them. Yet too often, play spaces and opportunities are not fully accessible or welcoming to everyone. Together We Play is here to change that — by fostering environments where all children can thrive side by side, learning from each other and building a more inclusive future.

When children of all abilities play together, they don't just have fun — they learn empathy, celebrate differences, and create a community where everyone belongs. Through inclusive play, we lay the foundation for a society that values and uplifts every individual.

At Gillette Children’s, we’re committed to making sure no child is left on the sidelines. Because when we play together, we grow together. 

Creating the opportunity for children of all abilities to play together is not only about equity – it also enriches the play experience for all involved. When children play together, they learn to celebrate one another’s differences, fostering mutual respect and understanding, and laying the foundation for a more inclusive society.

Gillette Children’s created Together We Play as a rallying cry to unite kids of all abilities in a variety of recreational activities.
