About Patrick Maillet, Government Relations Counsel, Legal Services Corporation

What industry are you in? I am a Government Relations Counsel for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a quasi-government nonprofit that provides civil legal aid to low-income Americans. I also serve in the US Army Reserve in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.

What does your work focus on? My civilian job largely focuses on government relations: mainly interacting with the Legislative and Executive Branches of government in Washington, DC.

Why did you choose to serve at Gillette Children’s? I worked on Capitol Hill for over six years and handled health care issues, particularly those in the Twin Cities. I saw firsthand the national reputation Gillette has and the important role it plays in the community.
