What to know about law enforcement at Gillette Children’s

We know that recent news about increased federal law enforcement activity in Minnesota may feel unsettling, and we want you to know where we stand. Our long-standing policies guide how we respond to law enforcement, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Here’s what that means for you:

• Care is provided to every child, regardless of immigration status. 
• Your privacy is protected under Gillette’s policies, state, and federal law. 
• We do not share patient or staff information without proper legal documentation. 
• Law enforcement officers, including ICE, can enter public spaces on our campuses and clinics, but they cannot enter our patient care areas without proper legal documentation. 
• Patients and family members who are uncomfortable coming to an appointment in person, please contact us. In some cases, we can arrange telehealth appointments or offer other options.
