ST. PAUL, Minn. — Gillette Children's, a pediatric specialty healthcare system dedicated to patients with brain, bone, and movement conditions, today announced that it will begin the search for its next President and Chief Executive Officer. After 13 years of dedicated leadership, current President and CEO Barbara Joers will conclude her service with the organization effective January 1, 2027. Paula Montgomery, who has served as the organization's Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, begins service as active Interim President & Chief Executive Officer today.
During her tenure Joers expanded access to Gillette’s specialized care model, including creation of both the Cerebral Palsy and Spine Institutes, as well as the Gillette Children’s Healthcare Press. She also helped grow Gillette’s research enterprise and has strengthened the organization’s advocacy on behalf of children with complex medical conditions.

The Board has authorized an executive search for a permanent President and CEO. The search will be led by incoming Board Chair Rulon F. Stacey, PhD, FACHE.
