Gillette Children’s has been re-accredited as a Level 3 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), recognizing the organization’s expertise in diagnosing and treating complex epilepsy. The re-accreditation is effective from 2026 through 2028.
NAEC accreditation is a nationally recognized standard that evaluates epilepsy centers on the basis of specialized services, clinical expertise, and the ability to provide comprehensive care for patients with seizure disorders. As a Level 3 center, Gillette Children’s offers advanced medical evaluation, treatment, and monitoring for children and young adults with complex epilepsy.
The designation reflects Gillette Children’s ongoing commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. To achieve accreditation, the organization demonstrated that it meets rigorous criteria, including around-the-clock access to specialized monitoring, trained epilepsy clinicians, and a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services tailored to pediatric patients.
“Earning Level 3 accreditation from NAEC reinforces our commitment to delivering the highest standard of care for children with epilepsy,” said Bryan Mendes, MD, medical director of Gillette Children’s epilepsy center. “This recognition reflects the expertise of our multidisciplinary team and our dedication to providing advanced evaluation and treatment options that improve the lives of our patients and families.”
Gillette Children’s epilepsy program includes a dedicated epilepsy monitoring unit with continuous video EEG capabilities, specialized pediatric expertise, and comprehensive services ranging from diagnostic imaging to neuropsychological support and rehabilitation therapies.
As an accredited center, Gillette Children’s will be listed on the NAEC website and will maintain accreditation through annual reporting and continued adherence to quality standards during the three-year term.
This milestone highlights Gillette Children’s leadership in pediatric neuroscience and its role as a trusted provider of specialized epilepsy care for families across the nation.
