Kids Demonstrate Their CAN During Adaptive Ski Day

Adaptive Ski Day

If you are a child who has a disability or complex medical condition, you may think the thrill of downhill skiing isn’t possible. “Not so!” say patients at Gillette Children's.

Each year, during Adaptive Ski Day, our kiddos soar down the slopes using different types of adaptive equipment – available depending on each skier’s unique abilities. For example, some kids ski upright while others use a bi-ski or sit-n-ski. The event is supported in part by Padraig’s Place Adaptive Winter Sports and the Mankato Area Adaptive Ski Program. Our Therapeutic Recreation team also helps put the event together. Check out the action below!
