2020 – Gillette’s Top Doctors and Rising Stars – Mpls. St. Paul Magazine

In 2020, 24 Gillette doctors were nominated as Top Doctors by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine.

Mpls. St. Paul Magazine recently released its “Top Doctors list,” which includes the names of 24 physicians from Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. The magazine determines award recipients based on a survey sent to physicians each year, asking them to nominate one or more doctors (excluding themselves) whom they would visit if they or a loved one needed medical care.

Gillette 2020 Top Doctors:

Many of Gillette’s physicians are recognized each year as Top Doctors by Mpls. St. Paul magazine. The publication honors physicians whose skills and expertise place them in high esteem among their peers.

This spring, Mpls. St. Paul Magazine also released its “Top Doctors, Rising Stars” list, which includes six Gillette physicians. The list includes doctors who have been fully licensed to practice for 10 years or less, and were selected after a peer-nomination process.

Gillette 2020 Rising Stars:

2019 – Gillette’s Top Doctors – Minnesota Monthly Magazine

In 2019, 15 Gillette doctors were nominated as Top Doctors by Minnesota Monthly Magazine.

Each year Minnesota Monthly magazine asks licensed Minnesota doctors, “If you or a loved one needed medical care, which doctor would you recommend?” Their most frequent answers comprise the magazine’s annual Top Doctors list: hundreds of Minnesota-based physicians in numerous categories, nominated by their peers and recognized for their professional expertise.

children's hospitals' solutions for patient safety award

Solutions for Patient Safety Top 16

Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare was recognized by Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) for meeting all three performance targets for patient safety. We’ve had zero stage III or greater pressure injuries, central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSIs) or unplanned extubations in 2020. There are more than 140 hospitals in the SPS network. Out of these 140 hospitals, only 16 have met all three performance targets for safety. We’re proud to be one of the 16!

Solutions for Patient Safety Hospital of the Month

Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare was recognized by Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) as the September 2020 SPS Hospital of the Month. SPS is a national network of over 135 hospitals in the United States and Canada focused on one thing: eliminating harm. Gillette has partnered with SPS since 2013. SPS recognizes Gillette as the SPS Hospital of the Month for September 2020 for 100% submissions in both outcome data and reliability data; for a decrease in adverse drug events and for a sustained rate of 0.00 for pressure injuries, central line blood stream Infections (CLABSI) and unplanned extubations.

NCQA patient-centered specialty practice award

NCQA Patient Centered Specialty Practice Recognition

Earlier this year we received notice from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) that we have achieved Patient Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) Recognition for our orthopedic practice at our St. Paul campus. The NCQA has now expanded that recognition to include our metro clinics as well: Maple Grove Clinic and Burnsville Clinic. We’re the first pediatric health care organization in Minnesota and our surrounding states to claim this distinction.

This recognition means Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare promotes a model of community partnership and sustainability, focuses on proactive care planning and sharing of information internally and externally. It means our patients and families have the expertise they need to advance their care.
