Join us at noon, Monday, May 1, as Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare’s favorite expat and former British royal guard, Richard Lett, will be bringing his sailboat to the hospital.
Lett will soon depart to set sail in the Bermuda One-Two Yacht Race, and is dedicating his journey to the patients and families of Gillette. He’s also been spending time volunteering at the hospital, and has formed lasting relationships with several of our patients.
“It’s been really meaningful for me to get to spend time with the kids and just hang out with them,” Lett says. “I wanted to find a way to share my experiences with sailing with the kids, and seeing that many of them are currently in the hospital, I figured that if they can’t be brought to the boat, I’d bring the boat to them.”
Lett plans to park his racing yacht (Velocity Girl) in the Gillette parking lot located at 183 University Ave E, and from noon-1 p.m. All those who are able and willing are welcome to stop by and check it out.
